Awesome Sculpture

April 20, 2006 / by constantvariable

Located at Williams Square in Las Colinas (part of Irving, Texas) , this is the world's largest equestrian sculpture. This piece , created by African wildlife artist Robert Glen, took 8 years to complete and was installed in 1984. I thought this was totally cool! .

[SMILE] yeah I was just surfing the net and came across it.... I think it's awesome how they rigged the fountain to make it look like the water splashing up.... totally makes it look like a live action sculpture...highly cool

The connection between horses and water is an interesting one. Poseidon, Greek god of the sea, was also the god of horses. Other mythologies make similar links.
